Heaven's Not a Crying Place
By Joey O'Connor
Teaching Your Children About Death, Funerals, And Loss
I first met Joey O'Connor at a MOPS meeting, a year after my daughter died. I was still a mess, but something about his speech hit a
core and I just had to purchase his book. It's a tough book to get through when you are grieving and still experiencing a lot of anger,
but well worth the read. Joey is the Director of the Orange County Grief Recovery Outreach Program in Southern California, so you can
say that he has first hand experience in helping others deal with death.
This books sits on my shelf as a constant reminder of the one I lost. But also as a tool to help my children deal with their grief, as
they grow and learn to explore their own feelings.
