Roses in December
By Marilyn Willett Heavilin
The first time I read this book, was the day that Marilyn Heavilin showed up on my doorstep; a complete stranger to me at the time.
She had heard that our infant daughter had passed away and wanted to comfort us. She and her husband stayed for hours, listening
and sharing their story. She left me with a copy of her book.
At first, I couldn't open it. But as time passed, I desperately needed to know I was not alone in this pain; that someone understood.
She has captured the pain of losing a child vividly in each page. She has not lost one, but three children; yet she continues to
amaze me as she reaches out and turns a debilitating loss into God's grace! This is a must read for anyone who has ever lost a child,
or knows someone who has.
Whether your child was an infant, a stillborn, or an adult, this book will help you cope with your loss. Roses in December digs deep
into the emotions of losing one's child and helps the reader deal with anger, sadness, depression, and other aspects of grief in a
productive way.
