Eulogy: A formal expression of praise for someone who recently died.

A eulogy is a speech used to tell a group of people how special the deceased was, what he/she did that exemplified the type of person we strive to be, funny stories that happened, life lessons learned, and whatever else comes to mind.

A eulogy is often spoken at the memorial, wake, or funeral service. Sometimes it's spoken only by family members, other times it's spoken by every one of the lives the deceased touched.

It can be as long or as short as you'd like it to be. It can be accompanied by a picture show, music, dancing, or other form of expression, or it can simply be told as a speech.

The important thing is to do what feels comfortable to you, and something that honors the one who passed away.
