SMILE AND CRY
A Grief Poem
By V. Villaseñor
All materials protected by copyright laws.
I looked out the window
And thought about you
I thought if you were here
What would we do?
Hug and laugh
Smile and cry
Remember and think
Close our eyes and sigh
You'd be so close
And I'd get to feel
Warmth in my bones
Instead of that chill
That chill from knowing
It will be awhile until I see
Your smiling face
Then forever we'd be
Together again
For eternity
As I look out the window
It's you I want to see
Under a tree
Smiling back at me
A whisper from my lips
I love you marmé
