Book Excerpts & Adaptations
We're looking specifically for submissions that deal with all aspects of grief. Submissions that help others walk through their grief, prepare their wills, or arrange funeral or memorial services.

Book excerpts or adaptations are a welcome treat because they allow our readers the ability to see what's inside your book―making it easier for them to make an informed decision on whether they should buy your book or not. However, if your publisher only allows one year archival rights, we cannot use your excerpts or adaptations. We don't have a system to automatically remove your submission nor the manpower to keep up-to-date on such contracts.

If you cannot provide an excerpt or an adaptation with indefinite archival rights, consider donating an article or essay on the theme of your book. That way, you don't break your contract and you still help promote your book.

Submissions should be between 500 and 1,500 words. Submissions should be self-contained. In other words, submissions should be able to be read without feeling as though you've just walked into the middle of a conversation or as though you've been left with a cliff-hanger.

See examples:
  • An actual book excerpt that stands alone: Click Here
  • An adaptation. The author picked a few journaling excerpts from her book, then added a beginning and end so the piece could be read as a stand-alone article. Click Here
We do not publish prefaces, book synopsises, or entire chapters. We also do not publish book reviews. We are looking for stand-alone excerpts, adaptations with excerpts from your book, or articles written on the premise of your book. We want to provide content that gives our readers―your audience―a favorable impression of the book and/or you, the author.

We do not pay at this time, but we will link to your book or video using our Amazon affiliate id and include it in our bookstore. That means that every sell we make earns this publication a few cents to cover hosting fees and maintenance while it increases both your royalty checks and your numbers with the publishers.

If your book is self-published and not in Amazon's database, we won't be able to include it in our bookstore, but we can still include a link back to your sale page--via your byline.

We will also include a 3-4 sentence byline at the end of your contribution which will include information about you, the author. Your name, your expertise, your book's title (complete with link to Amazon), and a clickable link back to your website.

If you've never shared an article with a publication or website for the sole purpose of marketing your product before, check out Tid-Bits For Marketing Your Business With Articles today!

Please answer all bullets in the body of an email.

Healing Projects Submissions
We're looking specifically for projects that deal with healing after a loss. Your how-to piece should include an introduction on how the project will help readers deal with their grief. In other words, how is it therapeutic? It should offer a safe outlet to express feelings and when done, feel better about the emotions that were released through the activity. It should not contain any type of religious affiliation unless it relates to God, Jesus Christ, or the Holy Bible.

We do not overlap healing projects so please check out the projects we've already accepted before submitting yours. We're looking to build a library of projects that will help those who've lost a loved one work through their grief so that they can move on with their lives. If you're not sure that a project you have in mind is already in the works, query first with your idea.

We pay $35 per healing project.

We buy one-month online exclusivity and indefinite non-exclusive online archival rights.
